Breaking My Promise

I made a promise with my fingers and toes crossed that when I do make a blog I wouldn't write about SM Radisson Blue Hotel but sorry couldn't help it. (bwahahaha evil laugh) but I will try to be very objective.

I came to Cebu for my 3rd anniversary trip and since my boyfriend had a meeting in Radisson, I went straight there instead before we go to our real destination. I didn't really expect much from the hotel thinking that SM was the developer and we all know that SM is not known for their high end places.

The outside view of the hotel. It looks kinda old considering that it's not even a year old.

The lobby's not bad but they can do better because it looks a little empty. Maybe some really nice flower arrangement in the middle could do the trick or how about a nice little bakeshop on the side?

I like the stairs though. It looks neat.

Soju posing in the elevator using the interior as a photo wall

The bed with my "Happy Anniversary" Cupcakes and poppers. Soju surprised me when I went out the bathroom.

They actually did a good job in the interior of the room. It looks high end and love the lighting. The whole bed with the pillows are cozy and comfortable and I'm really particular about that. So good job!

Trying to be as objective as I can.. This is the view from the window....

Soju had enough of my comments so we went down to get our complimentary breakfast. I wasn't able to take pictures though but breakfast was good. They had sausages, omelette, croissants, and some really delicious choices! One comment about the salmon though, I just took one bite and couldn't finish the rest because it wasn't fresh.

So there's my 4 hour trip in SM Radisson Blu Cebu. I rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Going to our final destination for our anniversary trip....

With Complimentary drinks upon check in. Cheers!

Conclusion: Radisson Blu wasn't bad but there's still no beating Shangrila Mactan!!!! Thank you Shangrila for making our anniversary super unforgettable!

Forever Young

I refuse to grow up! I am posting one of my favorites I wrote in the past. Everyday i still think about this. I think of how to be youthful and to always remember what the important things are in my life. Screw work and the unimportant thoughts that comes into my mind. It is not my life. Here it goes...

Being grown up sometimes makes you lose sight of things. Usually they say that the older we get and the more experienced we are, that’s when we become mature, wise, and careful about our decisions. We weigh the pros and cons before making the final say. Is this always a good thing? Think of it. Or are we doing that too much already?
When we become older we have more and different sorts of responsibilities. We are expected to have a socially acceptable behavior and a grown up outlook in life. We think too much of the future and for me it is tiring. When people say, that you should align your actions with your dreams. We’re still thinking about the future and worrying in the present if what we are doing will lead us to what we want to happen. We think too much that is why when we have high school and college reunions we never get tired of reminiscing on the silly and stupid things we did because we know that’s all we can do. That was a stage in our life when we had an excuse to be reckless and irresponsible. That’s why we can’t stop talking about our youthful past. So long were the days that we do something so carefree and thoughtless without minding the consequences.
My youth was full of life and experiences I will never forget. I hope it is the same for you too. Of course, we don’t want ourselves living in the past. I still believe in the saying that we should live like today is our last. We should be able to do the things we want but sometimes circumstances makes it impossible, and we have to ask how? Maybe some of us are still able to feel the teenager in them, the rebel in them, and just be the way they are. Good for them! But for some of us we become imprisoned with our work, responsibilities, and worries that are constantly by our side like with work, family, stress, expectations, and so much more. Our head is bombarded by endless questions such as, “ When will I ever get promoted?”, “ When can I ever have the vacation that I need?”, “ Will I be able to find a partner”, “Will I get married before 30?”. Nowadays, we worry too much and I am guilty of all these things.
I don’t know about you but for me someday I wish to find how I can be carefree and youthful again full of dreams but at the same time careless of the consequences of what I do whether good or bad. I don’t know if that’s even possible.  If that can’t be done now, all I can do is hold on to my youth and grab it like my life is depending on it because it is. Besides that, I suggest that you also remember what are the truly important things in our lives so that we may never forget what we should be really thinking about and try to get rid of the rest.
